As a prelude to the issuance of this December 11 at 23h on Radio Here & Now, Gildas Bourdais present the summary of the annual conference in Curitiba, Brazil. The opportunity to discover some personalities of the scene ufologique South America:

"I was fortunate to be invited to Brazil to speak at the Annual Conference of Curitiba, 15 to November 18, replacing Jacques Patenet who was invited but was unable to attend. I spoke, as I have already done several times this year (in Italy, San Marino and the United States, Roswell and Washington) to the revival of ufology official in France. I was also invited to speak about Roswell, to replace Stanton Friedman also unavailable. Incidentally, it was the third time this year that I "replacing" Jacques Patenet, but I made it clear when it was as a independent. However, Yves Sillard had approved my text.

Curitiba is a beautiful city with more than one million inhabitants, close to the Atlantic coast, halfway between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, but the conference was far from the importance and impact of media that took place a few more days in Washington DC, November 12 at the National Press Club. However, this conference, entitled bravely "Second Global Forum Ufologie" was a great reunion of participants from several South American countries - Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, joined the American and European speakers.

The organizers of the project was to review studies "official", or close to official services in these countries, and we can say that they have achieved this goal. The assistance was quite large, with 300 to 400 participants, depending on the day, and it should emphasize the positive and cordial atmosphere that prevailed between both the speakers and organizers from the public. I used mainly this: ufology is doing quite well in these South American countries. This is due seems to be a strong presence of UFOs in these countries, especially in recent years. "

Let us first, among the speakers of Brazil:
Dr. Carlos Alexandre Wuenche and Dr. Ronaldo Rogério de Freitas Mourão, two astrophysicists who spoke about the search for extraterrestrial life;

"All these speakers made presentations on solid ufology in their countries, illustrating case often very interesting, I'll try to give some examples. These include, first, the testimony of Nick Pope and Dr. Anthony Choi, who came to join the panel of Washington and who made a report highly appreciated.

Dr. Richard Haines, a former manager at NASA service "human factors in space" (Human factors Office Space), is currently in charge of scientific NARCAP (National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena), private group of study of aerial observations, and especially security issues. His most recent study is the observation of a supposed UFO over O'Hare Airport in Chicago on 7 November 2006, which had been some media. The complete study, 150 pages, is published on the website of NARCAP, and it comes from the sum in the journal IUR (International UFO Reporter, vol. 31 No. 3).

He has not talked to Curitiba, but has however raised a number of outstanding cases, some of which are known but others much less in different countries. Among the most impressive include that of a civilian pilot Mexican, Carlos Antonio de los Santos Montiel, faces three small UFO-shaped saucers, 3 May 1975, which came to be placed around his aircraft Piper PA-24 and put in difficulty. The overall opinion of NARCAP is, like the report "Condign British Richard Haines City that UFOs do not appear to threaten the aircraft. Richard Haines City has, finally, a case of accident that seems due to a collision with a UFO, the United States. On 23 October 2002, a small plane mail transport Cessna 208B Grand Caravan crashed near Mobile, Alabama, after the pilot reported by radio the proximity of a UFO, forcing him to deviate from his way. We found the aircraft split in two, with traces of unidentified material, while it fell in a swamp, which could not produce such an effect. Thus, to Richard Haines and NARCAP, the issue of air safety, in meetings with UFOs, stays put, and they are a series of recommendations, starting with the establishment of an international standard air incident report.

Professor Rodriguo Fuenzalida, Chile, president of the AION group investigated ufology, has presented numerous photographs and video showing a variety of UFO from classical forms up appearances strange, almost ghostly, that have not noticed but the witnesses that appear in the photos. He also mentioned cases of interaction between UFOs and witnesses. A video of the most remarkable shows a UFO, rectangular in shape, which seems gradually sinking into the water, not far from shore. We see that, although it is a sociologist by profession, Rodrigo Fuenzalida not afraid to explore the most bizarre, and not at all on the line, prudent and ambiguous, a Pierre Lagrange in France. He said that he had enjoyed my presentation of ufology French, which I did not hide the difficulties.

General Ricardo Bermudez, also of Chile, created in 1998, the official agency, both military and civilian, to investigate UFOs, called the CEFA (Comite de Estudios de Phenomenos Eros Anomalos). His opinion on UFOs could not be clearer: "Nobody in the world can deny the existence of UFOs." In my opinion, such a declaration, it is unlikely to be invited to one of our "great" national television channels. He described such a case of air encounter with a UFO, and listen to the recording of the dialogue with the pilot's control tower. He noted, on the other hand, many observations of UFOs in the Atacama desert in northern Chile.

General Bermudez welcomed the contacts he was able to forge with other countries, including Uruguay, and France at the time of SEPRA. He remembers well for Jean-Jacques Velasco who made a visit to Chile, and he recommended me to convey his greetings (which I did willingly).

Colonel Ariel Sanchez was the representative of the Commission of Inquiry official Uruguay, CRIDOVNI, which is one of the oldest in operation since it was created in 1979 within the air force. A civilian, non-governmental, the CRIFAT has also emerged in 2001. Incidentally, Uruguay is working with Argentina, but it is not organized for the study of UFOs, which explains its absence from the conference.

For Peru, Dr Anthony Choi, a lawyer, participated in the creation of the OIFAA, within the Peruvian air force, you can highlight the good cooperation between civilians and military, as in Chile. Anthony Choi is also an interesting, richly illustrated. It seems to give special attention to cases of contacts with "high strangeness."

All these representatives, official or unofficial, these South American countries, visibly active and concerned by the presence of UFOs, also share the wish to develop a genuine international cooperation that already exists between them, but that they want to spread worldwide, particularly in Europe and the USA. They regretted that the GEIPAN could not be present at this meeting.

I conclude this report with Quick Nick Pope, who has once again exposed his classical ufology in Great Britain, and its surveys for three years at the Ministry of the British Air (MOD).
